RAISING BEEF CATTLE ON GRASS FROM START TO FINISH IN DOWNEY, IDAHO.

While most American cattle are trucked across the country to feedlots, we've created a closed system for raising and selling beef in Utah and Idaho. Our cattle are born, raised, and harvested locally, they only graze on organic grasses, and are never given antibiotics or hormones.

We choose to raise grass-fed beef because it's better for people and better for the land. We are lucky enough to ranch in one of the few places with the perfect combination of the mineral-rich grasses and abundant clean water that cattle need to grow. We don't need to ship our cattle across the country to eat grain in a feedlot.

Grass-fed beef is also healthier for you. Compared to grain fed beef, grass-fed beef has 80 percent less fat, 30 percent less saturated fat, 5 times the amount of Omega 3 fatty acids, 4 times the amount of vitamin E and 10 times the amount of vitamin A. Grass-fed beef is also high in antioxidants and contains CLA that has been proven to enhance muscle growth, reduce the chance of heart disease, and lower cancer risk.

Raising grass-fed beef is also better for the cattle. As opposed to grain fed cattle that are fed high-calorie food and growth hormones while crammed into crowded pens, our grass-fed cattle get to mature naturally, roaming free in their pastures eating a natural diet of grasses, and live twice as long.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

The livelihood of our ranch depends on the health of the land, the continuation of raising award-winning beef cattle, regenerative agriculture and of course our loyal customers.  Our commitment to our cattle and how they are cared for is uncompromisable and something we take a great deal of pride in.

A ranch like ours is rare to find in today's world, where organic practices and sustainable agriculture are a way of life. We handle every step of the process, from the selective breed, calving, to raising them their entire lives with care. Ensuring our beef is finished naturally, keeping our healthy clean eating reputation. Our tradition of raising our beef cattle the right way, ensures you are receiving the best quality beef possible.

We have a ranching history starting before the 1900's with our Great Great Grandfather Alexander G. Reid, our ranch is still family-owned and operated.
